Yes, it's recycled material. Advac Elastomers, using Tirecycle® technology, converts what has historically been a problematic waste stream into valuable products for industry. Advac materials
break the conventional rules of recycled rubber crumb, which as a filler reaches its functional limit in most compounds at 3-8% addition. Untreated, unsegregated rubber crumb has functional uses in civil engineering, running tracks, and as a low-level processing additive. However, most scrap tires are burned as tire derived fuel, and millions more are dumped illegally. Additionally, millions of pounds of factory scrap ends up in U.S. landfills annually. There are
over 1 billion scrap tires accumulated in U.S. stockpiles.

In a fully implemented Tirecycle® facility, there is no waste and no hazardous emissions. The tread, sidewall, bead and innerliner are separated - and each has its use in the Tirecycle® rubber products family. All steel is sep arated and returned to the steel industry raw materials stream. One ton of tires used in Tirecycle® products replaces over 6 barrels of imported oil and 240 lbs. of imported natural rubber. Advac products further benefit the U.S. trade balance by lowering costs and increasing your company's competitiveness with overseas firms.
Tread stock made with 50% Tirecycle runs noticeably cooler and offers lower rolling resistance, improving fuel economy. Tires last longer, traction is improved, and there is less
environmental particulate per mile traveled.
